To those of you who did not know Judge Blackmon, you missed knowing a great man.  I was fortunate to have him as a Sunday School teacher many years ago.  My kids were small and money was especially tight one Christmas.  He knew I was having a difficult time and surprised me with gifts for my kids.  I was and am still appreciative for what this fine man did.

I am sorry to report that my husband Gil (Guiomar, Class of '61) passed away on January 8, 2007, the day after our youngest daughter's 19th birthday. We would have celebrated our 43rd anniversary on March 20. Our 3 children and 3 grandchildren are all in Houston. We miss him terribly, but to quote his motto from his days as a scoutmaster, we'll "keep on keeping on." Paula Buerger Novaez
