Subject: RE: GOOD NEWS EMAIL /// UD Henslee Birthday #94 on June 13
Hello, My sister forwarded me this e-mail from one of her '65 Ray High classmates, Joe McComb, who still lives in Corpus Christi. There is an update about Mr. Henslee, the first principal we had when we were all at Ray. Jane ~~~~~~~~
Subject: UD Henslee Birthday #94 on June 13
UD Henslee (Principal at W.B.Ray and longtime administrator for CCISD) ishaving his 94th birthday on June 13. He has fallen multiple times in the last 12 months breaking a leg on one occasion. He cannot walk and is in a wheelchair during the day. He is at a nursing home now. His dementia is so bad he does not remember that he cannot walk and has fallengetting out of the wheel chair and out of his bed. Fortunately, he can stillfeed himself and still has that wonderful, friendly, I never met a stranger personality. I think it would be great if the class of 1965 and any one else who knew him could see to it that U.D. receives at least 94 birthday cards on thisbirthday to let him know that people from Corpus Christi remember him. Could you spread the word, please? Ask people to send the cards to his daughter Ann Henslee Mabry. She can take them to the nursing home and enjoy them with him. Mr. U.D. Henslee c/o Ms. Ann Mabry 511 Hidden Harbor Houston, TX 77079
Thank you for all you do to keep us informed of what is happening with our fellow classmates. Mardi Schultz Mayerhoff |
